Shekinah Arts and Krafts started the export business year 2008. It is owned and supervised by Mary Cagandahan a native of Paete, Laguna the carving capital of the Philippines . She's been in the manufacturing business since 1987. She is well exposed to manufacturing handicrafts and was able to supply volumes of order that made her decide to start an export business of arts and crafts here in the Philippines believing to be more competitive internationally.

Mary, a businesswoman and supplier of handicraft is also a church administrator and a pastor of a full gospel church in her hometown, the Lighthouse of Faith Church. She is also a mother of three artists namely; Glenn, Christine and Odette, which are all graduates of Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines and now has their own career in the art world. All of these factors are the reason for her to pursue business in arts and crafts believing that this can help for the revival and development of art in Paete and also a support to the church.

The artistic town of Paete is known for woodcarving and is now exposed to wider kinds of art like painting and mixed media. It is also a place where handicrafts are manufactured like paper mache, boxes, abaca and more.

The purpose of this company is to revive the art in the town of Paete and to give job to its people. Second is to innovate and enrich crafts in this town. The third and the main purpose of this company are to support the church (Lighthouse of Faith Church Paete, Laguna) and its ministries (Bless the Children, GIG).

BENEFICIARIES

Lighthouse of Faith Church (LOF) is a full gospel church in Paete, Laguna with 40 church workers and over 300 attendees. Its purpose is to bring people to the family of God, help them grow in their faith in Christ and equip them to serve others and to shine in the world to glorify God's name. This church is praying for their building project and is now renting a building at the center part of Paete.

Bless the Children is one of the ministry of the church. LOF has over 300 indigent children member guiding them spiritually and educationally. These children are being supported by LOF for education, tuition, school supply etc. Every Sunday these children are gathered together for worship service and feeding program. These youth are the future generations. The vision of bless the children is that there would be no illiterate child.

GIG (God is Good) is a group of young artist of LOF giving glory to God thru their God given talent in music. The purpose of this group is to redeem music giving it back to God. Every Easter Sunday this group of young people is celebrating by having a musical presentation at the town plaza of Paete to share their God given talent to others and soon to other towns. The motto of this group is “No to drugs, no to immorality, no to alcohol, but yes to God, yes to brighter future and yes to happy family.”
